CMS Kit by Extro
CMS Kit by Extro offers is a powerful, lightweight, and cost effective CMS platform which offers a range of features out-of-the-box, and offers complete flexibility and potential for customisation.
Our CMS takes care of all the common requirements of online systems, whilst providing a power platform for customisation, so we can invest our time designing the parts of the system that make it unique, and building work flows to suit the unique requirements of your customers and your business.
Extro Interactive's content management platform manages all elements of website content and function using streamlined workflows, intuitive interfaces, and seamless integration with other systems across the organisation.
We offer a range of powerful yet cost-effective plug-in modules for common functionality and content management tasks.
Online WYSIWYG Authoring
Content can be managed through a web browser using a combination of intuitive fixed-field interfaces, and WYSIWYG editing. Wizard-style interfaces can be created to simplify the process of managing content for non-technical users. Our WYSIWYG editor supports CSS styles which makes editing quick, easy, powerful, and consistent, and also allows you to preview the content using the real CSS styles while editing.
Smart Templating System
Website front-ends are built upon a feature rich HTML-based templating system. Technical and creative users can easily update templates using standard HTML editing software. Smart Page Elements are used to add application-style functionality using a simple plugin architecture.
Online File Management
All file types (typically images, videos, pdfs and other file downloads) can be uploaded, versioned and managed through a user-friendly browser-based file manager.
Content Publishing Workflow
Content publishing workflow can be structured according to three available options:
-
Author / Review / Publish. Changes can be previewed individually in the staging environment and published to the live site once approved by an administrator.
-
Update Staging / Push live to production. In cases where key elements of site content are published by uploading datasets or through live data feeds, separate staging and production environments are utilised. Once all elements of the staging site are approved, the changes are pushed to the live site.
-
Live Editing. In some cases where content update requirements are straight forward, access can be granted to edit live website content directly, thereby bypassing the review process. A general training session is provided to introduce website administrators to key elements of system operation. The system also contains an internal help system with information on key elements. The help system can be updated by system users to create a growing knowledge base within the organisation.
User Groups & User Management
Role-based permissions are supported, allowing separate group permissions to access and manage different areas of the site. Permissions can be customised down to the field level so different user-groups can have different views and different levels of access to the same records. Building upon the Extro Application Platform, support for multiple user types with their own distinct workflows and interfaces is supported natively.
Integration
Data integration is supported through CSV, XML, SQL file formats and XML based Web Services which can be custom built to support unique requirements, and provide integration with other systems across the organisation. Typically, custom data feeds are setup to provide one or two-way integration with:
-
Accounting systems - MYOB, Quickbooks, NetSuite
